Senior Network Systems Engineer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support and optimize IEHP’s complex network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have advanced experience with Cisco networking platforms, Palo Alto firewalls, WAN circuits, and network security best practices. You’ll play a key role in maintaining secure, high-performance connectivity across our enterprise, supporting remote sites, and ensuring our critical systems stay online and resilient.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain IEHP’s Cisco Platforms, including Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR, ASA, and Wireless Controllers with Aironet Access Points
Manage and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls and WAN circuits (T1, MPLS, Layer 2)
Provide technical support for remote area networks, Internet connectivity, and VPN communications
Troubleshoot network performance, perimeter security issues, and all network appliances
Design and enforce network policies, procedures, and security standards
Build and manage internal and external network infrastructure and web presence
Perform backups on internal and external backbone network systems
Document network configurations, architecture, and operational workflows
Plan space and capacity for network infrastructure growth
Research, order, configure, and manage WAN circuits and hardware
Collaborate with vendors, carriers, clients, and cross-functional teams for network implementation and optimization
Assist in the design and deployment of network security systems
Provide Tier 3 support for escalated IT incidents impacting business operations
Participate in after-hours support and change management windows as needed
Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field – or equivalent work experience
5+ years of professional experience in network engineering or infrastructure support
Proficiency with Cisco platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, ASA, Wireless)
Experience with Palo Alto firewall administration
Strong understanding of WAN, MPLS, Layer 2/3 networking
Familiarity with VPN, VLAN, subnetting, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools
Working knowledge of network security principles and practices
Preferred:
Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCNA)
Experience with enterprise healthcare environments
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT standards
